Girls on the Run

Cabrini’s first GOTR team joined over 8,000 Girls on the Run participants, families and supporters on 5/11 and celebrated the strong, brave and confident girls who will lead our future, improve our community and make our world a better place! Thanks to all our GOTR families for supporting this program and congratulations to the girls on a great season!

Bubble Bus dance party!

On Monday 5/13, the whole school celebrated the success of the Auction by having a bubble bus dance party on the playground.

Note from Mrs. Koetting

It is hard to believe that my first year as principal at Cabrini is coming to an end – and I have loved every minute of it! It is an incredible experience to be part of a community where no need goes unnoticed and no prayer unanswered. The kindness and commitment of families and friends have made many wonderful things happen throughout the year.

Our building looks alive, as we have cleaned up, added new learning tools and welcomed many visitors in order to grow our community partnerships. The culmination of our efforts has been on display during this last month of school. Amidst the fun of field day & the 8th grade musical, we had a very successful auction that will allow us to grow our fine arts & technology programs moving forward.

I have been blessed to be welcomed, supported, and encouraged by the staff, teachers, parents, board members, and the many people beyond our building that are committed to our mission to educate the bodies, minds, and spirits of our students.

Wishing you a safe and restful summer break … and looking forward to coming together in August to continue our educational journey together.

News from the School Board

The St. Frances Cabrini School Board held its last meeting of the school year in early May. The members agreed that 2018-19 was a very successful year. Over the past year the Board has successfully faced some significant issues including:

  • revising the School Board By-Laws,
  • clarifying the demographic and enrollment challenges facing Cabrini,
  • developing a plan to improve the relationship between the school and its sponsoring parishes,
  • establishing a relationship with two non-sponsoring parishes who send students to Cabrini,
  • formulating a draft of a new strategic plan.

In July, the School Board will hold its first meeting of the 2019-20 school year. At that meeting we hope to welcome some additional members to the School Board and refine plans to address the following issues in the coming school year:

  • implementing key steps to improve the relationship between the school and its sponsoring parishes,
  • completing the new strategic plan and communicating the plan to sponsoring parishes, staff members, parents, volunteers and donors,
  • increasing enrollment,
  • identifying additional donors.

The members of the School Board are indeed grateful to all who assisted in making 2018-19 a year of growth and improvement for the Cabrini community. This success can only be achieved through the efforts of a great team. We offer special thanks to our principal and her staff, our parents and students, our sponsoring parishes and our many donors. The School Board wishes all a safe and enjoyable summer.

We are still looking for some additional positions and will keep you informed as those are filled.

Advancement News

Our annual Auction & Dinner this year was a record-breaking success!

Thanks for a home run in support of our Cabrini students. We are grateful for our supporters that joined us for a night to celebrate the many cultures that make up our unique Cabrini family. Special thanks to all our wonderful volunteers and students that worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth evening, including our Emcee’: Michael Heck.

Visit https://cabriniacademy.org/events/auction/ to view photos from the event.

Through the generosity of donors, we have been able to expand our programs. We have received grants from a variety of sources to support tuition assistance, gardening, kitchen equipment upgrades, faith formation materials and of course, fine arts & technology through our recent auction success.

What a blessing to have you in our community!
